The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education will conduct the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) on May 22 this year and candidates will be able to register for the examination online till April 18.
Announcing the schedule of TET, chairman of the board Subhash Garg said that they will start the preparation from March 31 and try to announce the result on June 15. "This is the first TET examination conducted in the state and the board will launch another website on TET on March 27," said Garg. The students will be able to get the syllabus of this examination from March 28 onwards.
To participate in the examination, a candidate should have atleast 60% marks in BEd and there is a slab of minimum marks for reserved class. Two types of eligibility will be decided through the test. The first category is for primary teachers and the second will be for teaching in middle classes. Just after the NCTE made the TET examination compulsory for getting the job of a teacher in school, the state government has made the education board as a nodal agency to conduct the eligibility examination. The students who pass this exam will be eligible to become teachers in government schools.
